Becoming a great therapist is a team effort.
Seasons Counseling is Virginia's premier Teaching Group Practice. Our residency develops independent clinicians rather than simply providing licensure hours: free weekly supervision, consistent clinical teaching, and a commitment track you choose.
Free clinical supervision, every week
Residents receive 2.5 hours of combined individual and group supervision weekly, at no cost. Supervision is not an add-on at Seasons; it is the center of the program.
The rhythm is consistent: individual supervision with your assigned supervisor and group case discussion with the residency cohort, led by Seasons' clinical leadership. Teaching and case discussion happen every week, not only when something goes wrong.
Supervision is led by Seasons' clinical leadership, who hold the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential from the Center for Credentialing & Education, a national standard for clinical supervisors.
What residents learn
Clinical education at Seasons is structured around the skills that make an independent clinician:
- Clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Case formulation
- Professional boundaries
- Documentation
- Ethical decision-making
- Receiving and implementing feedback
Residents gain diverse clinical experience across ages and concerns in an outpatient practice, with supervision and clinical education grounded in a consistent weekly model.
Our philosophy
Meet residents where they are, within a defined structure and a sustainable commitment. Caseloads ramp up gradually for the track you choose and grow as clinical readiness and capacity allow. Client care and clinician wellbeing come before speed.
Openings
Openings are published by office, track, days, and time slots, and candidates choose among the slots that are available. Not every office offers every track, and nights and weekends are available only when Seasons opens specific slots.
Current openings are confirmed with you during the discovery call; the application asks which offices and tracks you would consider.
Who thrives here
Residents who do well at Seasons are curious, humble, receptive to feedback, dedicated, collaborative, and willing to follow shared workflows and work with diverse clients. Dedication is not measured by choosing the fastest track.
We are currently recruiting Residents in Counseling working toward LPC licensure. Residents see clients in person at one of our four offices.

- W-2 employment with full-time and part-time options
